| Description | A rare single paneled coin chest bed. Servants were intended to sleep on them. This bed has elaborate ink paintings of scholars walking in their gardens or conversing with young women. The base is top lifting on one side, wide opening doors on the other, and constructed of large and thick slabs of camphor with its dovetail joins visible in the front, indicative of its age. Pierced carvings of fans, gourds, and other auspicious symbols are inset in the side and back panels, geometric joined roof. |
