| Description | A small porcelain scalloped plate with floral paintings in three medallions, red overglaze and gilded abstract designs interspersed. The Japanese Imari porcelain style was made in the Arita area of the former Hizen Province, and exported to the port of Imari, which gives the style its name. Imari is known for elegance and delicate craftsmanship. The chrysanthemums represent longevity, resilience and rejuvenation. |
