Description A pair of small porcelain plates with scalloped rims, intricately decorated in Imari floral patterns, with gilded details. The Japanese Imari porcelain style was made in the Arita area of the former Hizen Province, and exported to the port of Imari, which gives the style its name. Imari is known for elegance and delicate craftsmanship, often depicting flowers, landscapes and mythical creatures such as the dragon in the center medallion.
