Item No. DS-029
Description Late 19th–early 20th century Indochinese teak household shrine cabinet. Designed to house and display deities within its enclosed upper sanctuary. The architectural crest is framed by turned finials and decorative scroll-work, while paneled doors open to reveal the recessed shrine compartment. A substantial lower cabinet provides concealed storage for ritual objects and other household items. Crafted from dense golden teak with a rich, warm patina, the piece combines traditional devotional function with the architectural and decorative influences characteristic of colonial-era furniture.
